Overview

A standalone Tale of Tsushima in the Iki Island region, told by the people living under the occupation rather than by anyone commanding it.

A Helping Hand is a standalone Tale of Tsushima in Iki Island — not attached to an ally questline, and told from inside the occupation rather than above it.

The side tales are where the game shows what the invasion costs people who were never going to be defended by eighty samurai on a beach. They are short, and collectively they are most of the game’s texture.

In the game’s own framing: A man whose house the Mongols destroyed is rebuilding it. The tale is three deliveries and a house at the end.

1. 01
   Find him in the woods

   Usually west of Fort Sakai, though he can appear near Weeping Mother’s Meadow. Look for white smoke. Give him 3x Yew Wood.

2. 02
   Find him in a field

   He moves after the first meeting. Give him 6x Predator Hides.

3. 03
   Find him at the beach

   The third location. Give him 10x Iron.

4. 04
   The tale registers

   Only now does it formally appear in your journal.

5. 05
   Visit the finished house

   West of Fort Sakai. Speak with him and look at what he built.
