OverviewSpoilers
The Mongol invocation of the Eternal Blue Sky is the Khan's own phrase. The mission named for it is where he answers for it.
The penultimate mission of Ghost of Tsushima brings Jin to Khotun Khan. It is the resolution of the invasion plot — the thread that began on Komoda Beach with a samurai killed mid-sentence.
What follows it is not another battle but The Tale of Lord Shimura, which is the story the game actually wanted to tell.
GameWith's index describes this chapter as the build toward the story's climactic battle sequence. 'Eternal Blue Sky' is the Mongols' own invocation, which makes the title an answer as much as a description.
In the game’s own framing: The storm is coming, and with it the strike on Khotun Khan. Everyone Jin has gathered across three acts is at Jogaku Temple for it.

Full walkthroughSpoilers
- 01Travel to Jogaku Temple
Yuna is by the pagoda near the frozen lake.
- 02Speak with your allies
Optional and the best few minutes in the act — Ishikawa by the Bowyer, Lady Masako at the gift altar, Norio in a temple by the frozen lake, Kenji in the main temple.
- 03Speak with Yuna
By the armorer, for the briefing.
- 04Infiltrate Port Izumi
Follow Yuna into position in the fishing village. Not the main gate — go up the frozen riverbed, staying in the pampas grass. Crouch into the grass and let the patrol pattern settle before you move; the grass breaks line of sight entirely rather than just slowing detection.
- 05First wave
Mostly swordsmen. Stone Stance to hold, then Ghost Stance to clear. Stone Stance handles the swordsmen; its heavy attacks do extra stagger damage and break their guard.
TipStone breaks swordsmen, who make up most of every Mongol group.
- 06Second wave
Follow Lady Masako up the stairs into a mixed group; switch stances through it, then regroup.
- 07Reach Norio
Run with your allies to where he is waiting.
- 08Locate the Khan
The watchtower inside Port Izumi. Reinforcements join you here.
- 09Approach the manor
A large Mongol force is around the gates — fight through or sprint past.
- 10Duel Khotun Khan
Heavenly Strike when Resolve allows. Roll the red attacks, parry the blue and the ordinary ones, and spend Ghost Stance the moment it is up. Keep at least one Resolve segment in reserve — it is your healing as well as your techniques, and spending the last one on damage is how a won fight turns. Blue-marked attacks can be parried; red-marked ones cannot and have to be dodged. Reading the colour matters more than reacting fast. Duels disable your tools, so this is stances, parries and dodges only. Let them commit first and take the recovery window rather than opening yourself.
- 11Chase him to his ship
He runs. Go downhill after him and do not let the surrounding Mongols pull you off the chase.
- 12Finish it on the ship
He fights with his men around him. Stay on the Khan rather than the minions except when one is about to land a hit. Use the pickups on deck, sticky bombs on the Khan, kunai to stagger the rest. Each time he weakens he calls more soldiers; repeat until the finisher prompt appears.
- 13Ride out with Yuna
Reunite and follow her to close the tale.
Enemies in this tale, and how to fight them
Strengths
- Swordsmen — Stone Stance, whose heavy attacks do extra stagger damage to sword-wielders and break their guard. Swordsmen are the backbone of nearly every Mongol group, so Stone is the stance you will spend the most time in. Parry timing matters more here than anywhere else: blue attacks can be parried, red ones cannot and have to be dodged.
Rewards
- Major Legend IncreaseA large step toward the next Legend rank. Legend gates your Ghost Weapon unlocks and your health and Resolve upgrades, so main and Mythic Tales are the fastest way to raise it.
