OverviewSpoilers

The penultimate Iki chapter, bringing Jin to the resolution of the Eagle’s hold on the island.

The Blessing of Death closes the main confrontation of the Iki campaign. Everything the expansion has built — the hallucinogen, Fort Sakai, Kazumasa’s legacy, the islanders’ hatred — converges here.

It is followed only by the epilogue.

In the game’s own framing: Jin sets an ambush that deliberately mirrors his father’s death, and takes it to the Eagle in Senjo Gorge.

Full walkthroughSpoilers

  1. 01
    Meet Tenzo and Fune

    An opening cutscene with both.

  2. 02
    Ride with Tenzo

To where his scouts are waiting.

  3. 03
    Speak with the scouts

    For what they have found.

  4. 04
    Pursue the Eagle

A figure is sighted nearby, which starts the fight.

  5. 05
    Defeat the Mongols

It was not her — the sighting was an illusion.

  6. 06
    Speak with Tenzo

    About what to do instead.

  7. 07
    Travel to Senjo Gorge

On horseback. Whistle the horse rather than walking back to it, and remember a charge is itself an opening move against a loose group.

  8. 08
    Fight at the gorge mouth

Shamans first, and let your allies hold the line while you reposition. Kill the Shaman before anything else — while he is chanting every Mongol near him hits harder, moves faster and blocks better, so removing him is worth more than removing two ordinary soldiers.

  9. 09
    Enter the canyon

    Deeper into the gorge.

  10. 10
    Second wave

    Same approach.

  11. 11
    Push on

    Further through the canyon.

  12. 12
    Third wave

    Another group.

  13. 13
    Advance

    Toward the confrontation.

  14. 14
    Final wave

    The last soldiers before her.

  15. 15
    Defeat the Eagle

Ankhsar Khatun switches between one-handed and two-handed weapons and the timings differ. Dodge consistently rather than trying to trade, and spend Resolve on the openings that follow. Keep at least one Resolve segment in reserve — it is your healing as well as your techniques, and spending the last one on damage is how a won fight turns.

Enemies in this tale, and how to fight them

Strengths

  • Shaman — Kill first, before anything else on this list. A Shaman does not fight you directly — he chants, and while he is chanting every Mongol around him hits harder, moves faster and blocks better. Killing him is worth more than killing any two of the others. Kunai to stagger, then a heavy attack, is the fastest answer; sustained Wind Stance pressure also works. Shamans usually stand back from the line, often on rocks or ruins, so the bow is frequently the cleanest route.

Rewards

  • Major Legend Increase
A large step toward the next Legend rank. Legend gates your Ghost Weapon unlocks and your health and Resolve upgrades, so main and Mythic Tales are the fastest way to raise it.
  • Samurai Clan Armor Dye
A colour option for an armour set. Cosmetic only.
