OverviewSpoilers
The expansion’s hardest chapter to sit through — named for what happens rather than for what Jin does about it.
Kidafure is where the Iki campaign’s cost is made explicit. The Eagle Tribe’s occupation is not a garrison arrangement; it is applied to the island’s people directly.
It sits in the closing stretch of the expansion, before The Blessing of Death and the epilogue.
In the game’s own framing: A coordinated night ambush at Kidafure to get the captured raiders out and push the Eagle Tribe back.

Full walkthroughSpoilers
- 01Speak with Fune
On the middle level of her refuge.
- 02Ride to Kidafure Village
With your allies, to the survey point. Survey points are not decoration — each one you mark puts an objective or a hazard on your map, and skipping them means finding the same things the hard way.
- 03Survey the area
Climb the tower and examine three marked sections to set the ambush. Survey points are not decoration — each one you mark puts an objective or a hazard on your map, and skipping them means finding the same things the hard way.
- 04Join the battle
After the conversation with Tenzo the night attack begins; mount up.
- 05Reach the first fireworks
Ride for them while the dialogue about the Eagle plays.
- 06Defeat the first group
Charge in on horseback, then dismount. The Shamans are up on the rocks — take them first. Kill the Shaman before anything else — while he is chanting every Mongol near him hits harder, moves faster and blocks better, so removing him is worth more than removing two ordinary soldiers. Whistle the horse rather than walking back to it, and remember a charge is itself an opening move against a loose group.
- 07Reach the second fireworks
Once the first site is clear.
- 08Defeat the second group
There are explosive carts scattered through this arena; use them.
- 09Reach the third fireworks
The last ambush position.
- 10Defeat the third group
More Mongols and Shamans. Kill the Shaman before anything else — while he is chanting every Mongol near him hits harder, moves faster and blocks better, so removing him is worth more than removing two ordinary soldiers.
- 11Free the captive raiders
Once the zone is clear.
- 12Lead them back to the tower
Guide the freed fighters in.
- 13Defeat the final group
Around twenty of them. Shamans first, hit distracted enemies from behind, and spend the meter as it fills. Kill the Shaman before anything else — while he is chanting every Mongol near him hits harder, moves faster and blocks better, so removing him is worth more than removing two ordinary soldiers.
Enemies in this tale, and how to fight them
Strengths
- Shaman — Kill first, before anything else on this list. A Shaman does not fight you directly — he chants, and while he is chanting every Mongol around him hits harder, moves faster and blocks better. Killing him is worth more than killing any two of the others. Kunai to stagger, then a heavy attack, is the fastest answer; sustained Wind Stance pressure also works. Shamans usually stand back from the line, often on rocks or ruins, so the bow is frequently the cleanest route.
Rewards
- Major Legend IncreaseA large step toward the next Legend rank. Legend gates your Ghost Weapon unlocks and your health and Resolve upgrades, so main and Mythic Tales are the fastest way to raise it.
