Overview

A loincloth with one perk, earned by visiting every hot spring on the island. It is a joke with a real mechanical payoff.

Fundoshi's single effect is that running and sprinting no longer create noise. In a game where movement sound is what gives away an approach, that is not nothing — but it comes with no armour, no damage bonus and no defence at all.

Earning it requires finding all 18 hot springs, which are also where Jin's reflective monologues and health upgrades live, so the collection is worth doing regardless.

A joke with one genuinely useful property. It is a loincloth; it also silences your footsteps entirely.

Upgrading it

Armour is improved at an armourer, paid for in linen, silk and leather gathered from the world and from tale rewards. Every set states its effects as a range, and the upper figure is what the set does only once it is fully upgraded — an unupgraded set is materially weaker than its description suggests.
