Overview

The half bow is the one you actually use most, because most of what you shoot is not wearing armour.

Faster to draw and lighter than the longbow, it is built for headshots on standard troops and for the quick second shot when the first one misses. Against unarmoured targets it kills as reliably as the heavy bow and lets you keep moving.

It is the first bow Sensei Ishikawa gives Jin, and it defines the early stealth loop: thin the patrol, close the distance, finish with the katana.

Fast enough to use inside a fight. It will not kill a helmeted commander, which is the whole reason the Longbow exists.

Upgrading it

Weapons and tools are improved through the skill trees, spending Technique Points earned as your Legend rank rises. Legend itself comes from tales — main and Mythic Tales give the largest steps, side tales, liberated settlements and cleared encounters the smaller ones.
