Kunai
Thrown blades that stagger a group instantly — the Ghost weapon that most often turns a losing melee back around.
Overview
Kunai are not really a damage tool. They are an interrupt, and that makes them one of the most valuable things Jin carries.
Thrown at a group, they stagger several opponents at once, breaking guards and creating the opening a stance change alone would not. In a fight that has gone wrong — surrounded, low on Resolve, an unblockable attack incoming — kunai are the reset button.
They sit squarely in the Ghost half of Jin's arsenal: a samurai does not throw blades at people, which is precisely why they work.
The stagger opener. Two kunai break a guard and buy the window everything else is spent in.

Weapons and tools are improved through the skill trees, spending Technique Points earned as your Legend rank rises. Legend itself comes from tales — main and Mythic Tales give the largest steps, side tales, liberated settlements and cleared encounters the smaller ones.

Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
- Staggers several enemies at once, unlike most single-target options
- Fast to deploy mid-combo
- Breaks guards that a stance mismatch cannot
- Staggers rather than kills, which is the point — it opens a target for something else.
Weaknesses
- Low direct damage — this is not a kill tool
- Limited carrying capacity
- Quick-thrown, so it lands inside a combo where an aimed tool would not.
Best uses
- Escaping being surrounded
- Opening an armoured or shielded opponent for a follow-up
