Sakai Clan Armor
Jin's family armour, awarded in Act 2 — melee damage, health, and the only set that improves Standoffs, the game's one purely samurai mechanic.
Overview
The Ghost Armor rewards being unseen. The Sakai Clan Armor rewards announcing yourself — and the game gives you both in the same act.
The set raises melee damage and health moderately to majorly, increases the Standoff streak by 1–2, and gives a won Standoff a 10–25% chance to terrify nearby enemies. That Standoff focus is what makes it distinctive: no other set improves the mechanic that most embodies the code Jin is abandoning.
Getting it in the same act as the Ghost Armor is the point. The game hands you the two identities as equipment and lets you choose which to wear.
The aggressive samurai set. Standoffs are its whole argument — more kills per standoff, and a chance the survivors break.
Where you get it
- Ghosts From The PastMain Tale — awards this
Tales that call for it
- a Reckoning in BloodMain Tale — the walkthrough calls for it
Upgrading it
Armour is improved at an armourer, paid for in linen, silk and leather gathered from the world and from tale rewards. Every set states its effects as a range, and the upper figure is what the set does only once it is fully upgraded — an unupgraded set is materially weaker than its description suggests.

Strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
- The only set that improves Standoffs
- A longer Standoff streak can open a camp before the fight properly starts
- Combines offence and survivability rather than specialising
Weaknesses
- No stealth benefit, unlike the Ghost Armor from the same act
- Standoff bonuses do nothing if you do not use the mechanic
Best uses
- Opening a camp with a multi-kill Standoff, then fighting through
- Samurai-styled play that refuses stealth on principle
