Overview

Every other set is something Jin found, bought or dug up. This one is what the island has decided he is.

The Ghost Armor reduces enemy detection by 25–40%, lowers the number of kills needed to enter Ghost Stance by 1–2, and gives kills a 15–30% chance to terrify nearby enemies. Those three perks describe the same playstyle from three directions: get close unseen, reach the state where enemies break, and make each kill spread panic.

It is awarded by the Act 2 mission From the Darkness rather than by a Mythic Tale — the story hands it over at the point where Jin's reputation has become a weapon in its own right. The mechanical effect and the narrative effect are the same effect.

Terror as a mechanic. It is the armour the story hands you at the exact moment Jin stops being a samurai.

Upgrading it

Armour is improved at an armourer, paid for in linen, silk and leather gathered from the world and from tale rewards. Every set states its effects as a range, and the upper figure is what the set does only once it is fully upgraded — an unupgraded set is materially weaker than its description suggests.
