Gosaku's Armor

Gosaku's set has a self-sustaining loop built into it: stagger an enemy, kill them, get health back, repeat.

It raises health moderately to majorly and stagger damage moderately to majorly across its four upgrade tiers, and restores 10–20% health whenever you kill a staggered enemy. That last perk is what makes it the stand-and-fight set — the longer a brawl runs, the better it gets, which is the opposite of how most armour works.

In legend it belonged to a farmer who armed commoners against a raid. The strongest melee armour in the game is explicitly not samurai equipment, and the game leaves that observation entirely to the player.

Built for being outnumbered: stagger, execute, heal, repeat. The best answer in the game to a crowd of Brutes.

Armour is improved at an armourer, paid for in linen, silk and leather gathered from the world and from tale rewards. Every set states its effects as a range, and the upper figure is what the set does only once it is fully upgraded — an unupgraded set is materially weaker than its description suggests.
