Overview

Yuriko's two tales are about medicine, memory and sight — not about the invasion at all.

Her questline is the shortest of the named ally arcs: two Tales of Tsushima in the Toyotama region, The Proud Do Not Endure and The Art of Seeing. Where Masako's tales are a revenge investigation and Norio's are a monk taking up arms, Yuriko's are domestic in scale.

She connects to Jin's childhood rather than to his campaign, which makes her one of the few characters who knew him before any of this — and one of the few whose tales the war does not decide.

Their arc runs to 2 tales, beginning with The Proud do Not Endure and ending with The Art of Seeing. The ally questlines are the best writing in the game and they run in order — each tale assumes the ones before it, so they reward being followed as a sequence rather than picked at.

  • The Proud do Not Endure1 of 2 · Act 2 · Yuriko may have remembered the ingredients for the poison Jin asked her about. Gathering them is the tale; what her memory is doing is the point of it.
  • The Art of Seeing2 of 2 · Act 2 · Yuriko wants to visit somewhere with Jin.
